T20 - Eagles' Day?

Nottinghamshire and Hampshire are through to finals day in cricket's Twenty20. Notts beat Sussex in their quarter-final clash by 13 runs. Hampshire overcame Warwickshire by five wickets. The final two last 8 ties take place today. Among them - Essex against Lancashire at Chelmsford. Captain James Foster has told us qualifying for this stage is a huge achievement.

Hammers Lift Southend Trophy

Football - and West Ham's under 19s have won the Southend United Youth Trophy at Roots Hall. The Hammers defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the final - The Blues had to settle for fourth place.

Ravi Fires Warning to Selectors

Cricket - and Essex have picked up an impressive win on their return to Pro 40 action. The Eagles thumped Northamptonshire by nine wickets - Ravi Bopara responding to his England snub by smashing 88 not out.

Blues Sign Two More

Southend United Manager Paul Sturrock's taken his summer signings to TWELVE - by adding two more new faces to the squad. Experienced defender Graham Coughlan will combine playing duties with coaching the reserves. Ex Chelsea goalkeeper Rhys Evans has also agreed a pre contract deal.
